We are looking for a licensed counselor to work full-time with our DBT team in Raleigh, NC.

Position Summary: Provides clinical services including group, family, and/or outpatient individual therapy, community support, and clinical evaluations for services; Maintains client records including treatment planning, person center planning, clinical psychosocial assessments, and service notes; Responsible for completing documentation for authorizations for MCO funding, Medicaid, and 3rd Party Billing in timely manner; Identifies resources and provides case support and management for clients; Participates in clinical supervision and treatment team meetings on a weekly basis; Pursues staff development opportunities such as continuing education to maintain or obtain licensure; Meets requirements specified for providing services in state of NC .

 Responsibilities Include:

 Evaluation intakes, screens, assessments

  • Provides screening, assessments, and evaluations in a professional and engaging manner, including the required information, organizing it for key personnel to suggest level of care for each client assigned, and clearly presenting the information to the treatment team. Completes the written documentation at the time of service.
  • For each client assigned, provides an orientation that outlines a goal statement, explains and schedules services and clarifies the following: confidentiality, client rights, consents for services, and financial requirements.

Clinical Service groups, individual and family therapy, supportive counseling, DBT

  • Establishes a therapeutic counseling relationship with each client assigned; facilitates individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Identifies elements of client crisis, responds to each client needs to ensure their safety, integrates crisis experience into the treatment process for each client assigned.
  • Provides client education as needed directly or through referral.
  • Participate in training as part of DBT certification
  • Provide model adherent DBT individual therapy and skills group training
  • Attend weekly case consultation team meetings

Maintain Client Record including NCTOPPS; Discharge planning; Development, Monitoring and Revision of TX plan; typing and preparing clinical notes and psychosocial assessments;

  • Coordinates treatment plan development and revisions.
  • Identifies elements of client crisis, responds to each client needs to ensure their safety, integrates crisis experience into the treatment process for each client assigned.
  • Documents progress notes for clients assigned within one working day of service, complies with information guidelines and signature requirements, maintains chart organization, and files in a timely manner.

Coordinating Client Care Coordinate treatment; referrals, progress reports to probation officers, judges, lawyers, CPS etc.; Provides case support by identifying additional services needed for client care, coordinating and collaborating with relevant services, preparing and discussing discharge plan with each client assigned.

  • For each client assigned, identifies appropriate referral resources, coordinates services with referral resources, and assists client with utilizing referral resources.
  • Contacts all clients assigned who do not show for appointments.

Qualifications:

Educational and Experience

  • Minimum Master's degree in a Human Services field
  • Meets the requirements specified for licensure
  • Additional training requirements apply if providing NC State defined enhanced services; must be completed within 90 days of employment.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Currently licensed to practice clinically (e.g., LCAS, LMFT, LPC, LCSW)
  • Currently licensed in Substance Abuse treatment preferred
  • Intensively trained in DBT preferred, however, training can be provided to the right person

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • 12 Core Functions
  • Ability, knowledge, and training to understand nature of addiction, withdrawal symptoms, and identify symptoms of alcohol and drug addiction
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Electronic Medical Record skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with the DSM-V for diagnostic and treatment purposes
  • Working knowledge of systems theory and/or other counseling theories and substance abuse treatment
  • Competent writing skills
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; ability to work in a team setting
