SouthLight Healthcare is a non-profit substance abuse and mental health prevention, education and treatment agency.  We provide behavioral and medical therapies for addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.

We are currently seeking a Part Time Prevention Specialist within our Prevention Services program located on Poplarwood Court in Raleigh.  This position provides various comprehensive, evidence-based substance abuse/alcohol prevention curriculums/programs to a variety of age groups at different venues (including schools, after-school programs, youth centers, etc).

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide substance abuse/alcohol educational services to students as well as parents, teachers and others in the community
  • Provide program development and support
  • Provide assessments for clients to determine service needs
  • Ability to travel throughout the community and participate in projects such as health fairs
  • Administrative work such as paperwork and data input

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health/Education/Psychology or other Human Services field
  • SAPC Certification preferred
  • One year related experience
  • Strong knowledge of target audience
  • Bi-lingual a plus
  • Excellent teaching/presentation skills
  • Excellent reliability
  • Must have driver's license and transportation

Availability:

  • Must be available part time afternoons 3:30pm-7:00pm
