We are currently seeking a full-time Director for our Child and Adolescent Services Department based in Raleigh, NC.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Child and Adolescent Services Department is comprised of the following programs; Family Centered Therapy, Outpatient Therapy, Youth Prevention, Youth Psychiatry, and Outpatient Plus. The primary role of the Director of Child and Adolescent Services is to ensure that all programs operate smoothly and to facilitate the healthy growth of the department.  This role has many elements including but not limited to: supervisory, program management, growth and development & quality assurance.   

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ongoing assessment of processes in all Child and Adolescent Service programs to determine quality and efficiency. 
  • Oversight of all program managers within department 
  • Assess and problem solve any workflow issues internally and externally as they related to the department 
  • Development and growth of the department in general through hiring, community meetings, and internal quality reviews/audits 
  • Meet with Supervisors to determine staff training needs  
  • Data collection/outcome tracking  
  • Track and monitor documentation for compliance with multiple entities 
  • Development of protocols, policies and procedures as it relates to development of the department  
  • Be fluent and knowledgeable about service definitions and service requirements that impact the department 
  • Establish relationships with a comprehensive, targeted listed of providers and other relevant community organizations  
  • Interface with a diverse community of clients and staff 
  • Educating agency program directors and managers about the nature of Child and Adolescent services and various entrance criteria 
  • Participate in agency committees as applicable including Leadership & CQI 
  • Participate in required trainings as necessary for position/certifications 

 QUALIFICATIONS 

Educational and Experience  

  • Master's Degree in human services field 
  • QP status required with MH/SA population 
  • Three to five years of leadership experience with a mental health program 
  • Experience working in or oversight of community-based services 

Licensure/Certifications 

  • Fully licensed 
  • Multiple licenses preferred; LCAS, LPC 
  • Ability to provide supervision

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. 
  • Ability to supervise, train, motivate and evaluate employees. 
  • Ability and skills to set firm boundaries with staff and clients 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Excellent clinical skills 
  • Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to build rapport with wide variety of people in different settings.   
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Self-starter, independent worker, ability to overcome obstacles independently. 
  • Excellent written documentation skills. 
  • Ability to manage crisis 

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY  

Supervision Received  

  • Supervision to be primarily with the COO.  

Level and Budget Amount of Financial Responsibility/Accountability  

  • Is responsible for monitoring productivity of Child and Adolescent program staff members 

Impact of Actions Carried by this Position 

  • This position has the ability to significantly affect service coordination/delivery and financial resources for SouthLight. 

Level and Nature of the Internal Contacts 

  • This position collaborates with program directors, QM, Billing, IT, and HR for service coordination and assistance with establishing protocols for new programs 

Level and Nature of the External Contacts 

  • This position interacts with people or organizations (e.g., consumer groups, service providers, general public, other health professionals) on a frequent basis for the purpose of coordinating service delivery.
